Dining/Family Room BEFORE and AFTERs

"Before" pictures were actually taken when we first walked through the house, but honestly this is basically what it looked like the day we took possession because the previous owners left behind sooooo much. I craiglisted most of it.

The plaster walls and ceiling in the dining room were in bad shape. We decided to add the wainscoting in there as well as dry wall the ceiling and add crown moulding.

We updated the light fixtures in the dining room, family room and stairs.

My grandparents gave us an awesome housewarming gift... faux wood blinds for the entire first floor! I'm not sure who was more thankful us or our neighbors ;) When they came up after Shepherd's birth my Grandpa measured and my grandma purchased and Zach installed. I looooove how they turned out.

AFTER

Notice my paint swatch art?? Zero dollars spent! (Ikea frame was left from previous owners)

This side of the family room needs more wall art. I never found or came up with anything I really loved so empty it sits. With plaster walls it makes it harder to hang things and change things on a whim and so I'm getting good at being patient and waiting for something to be the right fit. Zach is getting good about being patient when it comes to upgrading our little TV.
