I'll set the scene: He said "Mommy, I need a drink (and I'll pretend he said please.)" So I went to walk into the kitchen and he held his arms up to me to pick him up. I picked him up and gave him a hug. He wrapped his arms around my neck super tight. When he pulled back he looked me straight in the eyes and said "I love you, Mommy." That's right. Completely, totally 100% on his own. No me prompting him or saying I love you first!
