Independence Day Block Party

When we bought our house it was because we loved its' bones and history. We will stay in the house because of the neighborhood. I can't say this enough, I l.o.v.e. our neighborhood... the street, the trees, the historic houses, and most of all; the neighbors. Since the 30's it has done fun things like the neighborhood wives club and the 4th of July block party where they close down our street for us to run rampant on!  We totally lucked out.

Besides the food (mmm... the food) there was a bike parade...

"Shepherd" took a ride too...

Water balloon toss...

Where innocent bystanders got a little wet too; Kristi & Darlene (Zach's mom and Grandma)

Cherry pitt spit...

Three legged race...

Chewing gum bubble and shoe kick competitions not pictured =)

A very sweaty and tired little American... ready for fireworks! Zach took him and his sister Sofie, Shep & I stayed home in the comforts of the air conditioning (I can't believe i made it through this whole post with out griping about the heat... but good lordy the heat!) I did take him out for a sec because we could see the Fairview ones from our backyard.

It was a good, long day.
